About the Group
We are a not for profit, "no blame, no shame" group that understands it's important to help people without judging.
If you've found us, you probably realised this stage in life can be very isolating and we want to help there! As a group that shares a present and future in common, we would like to help each other with life’s experiences (good, bad and everything in between).
During a women’s life there are so many times that it's expected that you have "just a little drink" to join in. Weddings, hens nights or simply a drink with the girls, we understand and it certainly doesn't make you a bad anything! Many women drink socially and that's totally understandable in so many situations, so we don't blame! Our focus is not to just say "Don't drink while your pregnant", that boat has sailed for most of our members. The focus we have is to inform, assist and support people already effected or supporting someone in life with a birth condition known as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or FASD.
Admin: Craig & Louise Wilson - HISTORY & MISSION
Our mission has been to help young people in the early years of their life’s for many, many years. Today however, we are foster carers for 3 children, all effected by a range of physical damage caused directly by FASD. Needless to say, we have first hand experience in managing special needs children like ours. We have also come to realise there is very limited help for parents and carers of children like ours. However that's where we can make a difference, WE ARE NOT ALONE. In order for FASD to be addressed at an individual level, we need to be in contact with each other. We need to raise the level of knowledge to help each child to achieve there full potential and WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER.
